Book Review: 50 Shades Of Grey By: EL James

First of all ill keep this post clean and not turn it into a spoiler for those of you who want to read it. For those of you who blush at the books content or are going I cant believe youd read that ill say this " I'm a grown ass woman I can read what I want!" So anyway Im on page 457 almost done with book one on day 4 and am in love! Its a highly entertaining piece that crosses tons of boundries and i can only hope for more from the other books. That being said Ive noticed many similarities with Twilight. Not that thats a bad thing because I enjoy the Twilight books. It just kept picking at me that alot sounded the same. Rich guy and normal girl. Girls mom is divorced and remarried living in hot state, Georga, while Ana and her dad live in Washington. And a few other things. So i did my research on wikkapedia and came up with this:

Background The "Fifty Shades" trilogy was developed from a"Twilight"  fan fiction  originally titled "Master of the Universe" and published episodically on fan-fiction websites under the pen name "Snowqueens Icedragon". The piece featured characters named after Stephenie Meyer 's characters in "Twilight",Edward Cullen  and Bella Swan . After comments concerning the sexual nature of the material, James removed the story from the fan-fiction websites and published it on her own website, FiftyShades.com. Later she rewrote "Master of the Universe" as an original piece, with the principal characters renamed Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and removed it from her website prior to publication.[6]  Meyer commented on the series, saying "that's really not my genre, not my thing ... Good on her—she's doing well. That's great!"[7] This reworked and extended version of "Master of the Universe" was split into three parts. The first, titled "Fifty Shades of Grey", was released as an e-book and a print-on-demand  paperback in May 2011 by The Writers' Coffee Shop, a virtual publisher based in Australia. The second volume,"Fifty Shades Darker", was released in September 2011; and, the third, "Fifty Shades Freed", followed in January 2012. The Writers' Coffee Shop had a restricted marketing budget and relied largely on book blogs for early publicity, but sales of the novel were boosted by word-of-mouth recommendation.

With that being said .....ROCK ON for EL James! Truthfully as much as i love Twilight the books are written alot like a teenagers fan fiction. 50 shades of grey is in my opinion is very well written and better than twilight. Probably bc the main charicters dont waye to have sex until the ladt book chapter ten! Im really excited to see what happens to Ana and Christian in the next two books . Haley

Not quitting, not giving up, but I need a break

So a lot of things have happened since I last posted. I had a family emergency to tend to and then my financial situation has changed and I have come to terms that I just need to take a break and get myself financially stable before I go any further. However I am still going to practice my skills and continue teaching Sean how to do beauty makeup. It's quite amusing.
Mud also allows me to go in and practice with models and use the photo room on top of doing photo shoot days. I'll continue to keep you posted but I need to work on making me happy. Now I'm not saying Money is the root of happiness but you seriously stop stressing when you have a decent amount of it.

I Dissapeard Again

But Im back! Ive been crazy busy! I went home for a week for my little sisters wedding, yes i did the makeup. I also got to hang with the family and my awesome nephew. And the best part was fishin with my PaPa! On the flight back i met this guy who is doing the same thing i was almost a year ago..... Moving out here for film. He was talking to a lady about what he was doing and i couldnt resist. Because if ive learned anything out here its you need a network. And on top of all my other bussyness im moving! Back to where i started only im moving in with the Boyfriend! so excited i just hate packing. And along with my blog i will post a couple of pics from when i was making rotting flesh.

After Birth-Day!

Hey guys I disappeared again. Lots have happened. I finished that mask I was working on! It looks great!
I had my birthday, I'm officially 23!
It was so much fun! Sean woke me up with a ginormous cup cake! Later we met up with The Lovely Rose and went to see Dark Shadows. And then after we had a bbq! And if i haven't raved enough about Seans cooking skills I'm going to. He had like 5 kinds of marinate, steak , shrimp, chicken, burgers, hot dogs, strawberry and banana short cake w homemade syrup. We were stuffed and then he surprised me with a hello kitty cake! Seriously, Sean is the best!
Yesterday I did a face painting gig which was so much fun! Lots of butterflies and spiderman. The party also had a Rapunzle and a Little Mermaid! These girls rocked!  And were so nice. And tomorrow back to the lab!

Power and Tools!

Today at the lab was so much fun! I got to see Billy again, he brought by the power washer so I could clean the side of the building. They spray painted some graffiti for the film they were shooting. However the power washer just peeled off the regular paint. And while I was inside looking for a paint roller to repaint the side of the building , some maintenance guys showed up and painted the wall. I guess they thought people were tagging our wall. Either way I got to use the power washer and soaked my pants.
After that I used the drimmel tool to fix a seam on a latex head. Followed by two layers of pax paint. Tomorrow Dean is gonna show me how to paint it. I'm excited. I'll posts pic of the paxed and before pax.
But that's pretty much it for today, I'll be there all day tomorrow.

Cop out part 2: on set and staying busy

( this is a catch up)

The shoot went great! I built 3 rooms that looked amazing and was in control of the fog machine all day. Meaning my sinuses were crap. It was worth it though. However let's rewind to the third at about 9:30 pm. Sean and I were getting ready to go see the Avengers, which was awesome. Sean was dressed as captain America and i was normal me. It was so much fun. There was another group in costume which was cool. But any way the movie was from 12am to 2:35am and by the time we got back it was 3. I had to leave to be on set at 6 am so I could be there by 8. Total of 2.5 hours to sleep. Then I was on set till about 9:30 closer to 10pm. Can you say exhaustion. I also need to get some better shoes bc my feet hurt so bad that day.
But all is well out here! Sean and I are.making plans for my birthday Friday! Any way that's catching you up!

Cop out part 1 : What's my job again?

(the blog I wrote for the third)

So yesterday I was partner up with Billy Jett to do production design for today. Last night my home work was to find cop and crime scene photos that are to be used for Deans film. After an hour or so i had to quit , like I've said before I have a weak stomach. I would have been done sooner but I didnt want to use famous crime scenes like Dalmer or Buddy. You guys should have seen the look the girl at staples gave us when we went to print them out!
So from there we went to Linda Vista Hospital, which is used for filming and very haunted. And where do they start me to work ? The basement! The creepy, dark, basement! With long halls, fake blood everywhere, It's like Silent Hill! I was just waiting for something to rip my skin off. But the point of the basement was to build and repaint an interrogation room. Blood was all over there too hence the painting. And a kick ass table! Tyrone and i had it done within an hour.
From there my task was to set up the chapel for a funeral scene. I love that I'm trusted enough to set up a whole scene. Tomorrow were adding the casket. And from there I framed cop photos and "certificates" so the cops office looked like an office. It looked amazing! I can't wait to see this film and point out 20 different things I worked on.
The other cool part is that was all done before 2! I had to work at four, but I'll be there all day tomorrow. I just have to take a massive bus trip to get there. It will be worth it though. And I'm pretty sure Billy wants me out of makeup and in production design. Who knows maybe I'll be a Jack of All Trades.
And tonight the Avengers!

Crime scene and coffin baby

So today i spent most of the day at the lab preparing props and such for the film this weekend. Made a machette (if that's how you spell it)  and also spent a good portion of my time digging through the storage shed. I'm also working with the production designer tomorrow and Friday. He had me look up some pics of crime scenes so we can print them out for the shoot. I hope they like the ones I have because real gore makes me queezy. I'm thinkin helping this production designer out is a really good thing.
Also I'm going to see the midnight showing of the avengers tomorrow with Sean! Busy week end.

Bon-do Bon-don't

Today at the lab was an off day. I felt like everything i touched I killed. Pretty much I felt like I had my tail between my legs all day. Towards the end I was patching up a head with bondo and I noticed I had to leave to go to work. I left another intern to continue my patch job. Then I snuck out not really wanting to look people in the eye. I thought I messed up big time on a piece. Turns out I really didn't, I'm just a person who really is afraid of disappointing people.
I eventualy texted the boss man and said:
Had to go to work, sorry I messed up a lot.
I got a text back saying :
The only thing you messed up on was not saying goodbye. It's a learning process.
Do I work for an awesome guy or what? That really made me feel better. Tomorrow I'm off from the castle so I can stay longer at the lab.

Right now I'm at work and there's this kid who always comes in, he's like 4. He screams he curses he fights, and Hates me! It started because I wouldn't let him leave without his parent. So he pulled out a plastic pink dagger and pointed it at me, then cursed at me. His grandpa came and got him and the kid scratched him in the face! I've named him Omen. I'm sure he's pure evil.

But any whooooo
Im expecting tomorrow to be a better day. And if I'm motivated I'll clean my room tonight.

I am Number 23.......in two weeks

So when we last talked I was hitting a low point...... But I'm back and ecstatic! Last week I started an internship with Dean Jones ,Deep Space 9 & Toolbox Murders, @ American Makeup and Fx. This is really the best job I've ever had.
My first day Dean came out the front door and said ," your just in time to help me move some bodies" and we went to his car and took in 5 or 6 fake bodies covered in blood and wrapped in sheets. Then another intern and I separated body parts from torsos.
The next day I hung out with the creator of crime scene blood, which is on the Hollywood fx site starting at $12. We were filling up the test tubes all day. The blood comes in powder form and you just add water, It's awesome! But basically the powder gets everywhere and when I got into the shower I was a bloody mess!
And today I put together a split in half torso! It's going to be used for Deans movie, which also made me realize
"Holy crap, something I worked on is going to be in a movie!"

I go back tomorrow who knows what I'm going to do.

POOF! I'm Back, with an explination

       So sorry guys I disappeared! Occasionally I get really lazy and don't want to write anything and if I skip one day I kind of disappear for a few weeks. But now Im back and we can continue on our little adventure. But first an update.
    I now have a temporary computer so the internet is way easier for me. However when I  write it tends to lag and it takes forever for the courser to catch up with me and I have horrible patience. So if anything in this blog is spelled wrong sorry!
   Again Im sorry for my laziness its a thing lately, I think mostly from doing the same thing over and over every day. Wake up, go to work , do nothing, listen to stupidity, come home go to bed. do it all over again the next day. And then I find myself living for the small thrills of getting a face painting gig (or in my case i have 2 this weekend) Not that I'm not grateful but I feel like I should be doing more. This usually leads into the part where I get depressed and cry for no apparent reason, and then chew the boyfriend's head off. How he puts up with me I'll never know. But any way about a week or two later I start to notice my room is a mess and then I start getting motivated and start all over on making a career and trying to be happy. Isn't being a female post grad great!
     So I guess my current goals are to get enough money to go to my little sisters wedding in June. My next paycheck should do it. Then on top of that I'm turning 23 next month which I'm not ok with but who is? I don't know I feel young one moment and then I feel old the next, dosn't help that I work with people still in high school. And I'm not saying I want to be married and have kids right now but I see everyone else and have a feeling that that's where I'm suppose to be. Or at least I'd like to be able to afford  to move in with someone. It's so lonely having your own room and living 10 bizzilion miles away from everyone. Yes I have the boyfriend and love him oh sooooooooo much but I still go home at the end of the night and sit in my room alone.

This is literally turning into ranting........

Chapter 5: Losses, Makeup, & My Room Is A Disaster!

I just worked the craziest shift of my life! And i get to do it again! Seriously my feet are in so much pain I might saw them off.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I'm fighting slight depression. I've become homesick lately and also my little Becky Thatcher passed away. She was the best puppy I ever had. When I was in high school, and I hadn't gotten out of bed yet, she would crawl up on my chest, stick her face into mine, and growl at me like "its time to get up!" And it didn't matter how long I was gone, she knew who I was and always had the same excitement for me that I had for her. She always went to bed when she was told or if she was just tired, I liked that about her. She also would walk down the sidewalk before walking in grass. So playful and full of life, I love you little yum yums! R.I.P.

I did manage to do somethings Thursday night:

I managed to gross my roomie, Val , out so mission accomplished! Yes their makeup, no their not real! I was gonna do more but i figured a nap was more called for. I feel like Val is slowly getting a better understanding of what i do. She's really cool, we talked for 4 hours after I got off work! We figured we should probably go to bed. I'm hoping fore more makeup time soon.

Stitches, Crushed Nails, And Who Knows What Else...

Before someone starts asking what happened everyone is fine! I'm planning on doing some makeup tests tomorrow! I've been surfing the net watching videos thinking "I could do that" or " I could do that better" so let's see how it works out.

So at the castle today we are steady. Not a whole lotta crazy. Drama, just no crazy. I did have done customer ask me if is hold on to 50$ for him and buy a card for his friend if he showed up. The description of his friend being: he has 2 kids. This is not a responsibility I want due to the ammount of people that have 2 kids. So I nicely declined.

I also don't know if I'm being pickey, but you know those customers that start up a conversation with you and I'm clearly not interested, but they continue talking anyway. What is wrong with you people ! I'm just being pickey I think.......

Any way I'll post my tests on here tomorrow!

Eight Hundred And Twelve Clock Hours

And I got a Diploma!

I was really going to show you what i accomplished at work, but this is way cooler! I graduated MUD with a 3.40 GPA , and let's face it that's the highest my GPA has ever been. My letter grades were A,B,A,C (had a nervous break down at that point) and an A! Seriously best grades ever! And now I get 40% off MUD products and 15% off of mud approved products for LIFE! Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! I have motivation again!

Oh! This is what I did at work

It might not look like much but i napkined the hell out of those birthday plates! This weekend is planned to be busy at the castle and guess who's working?

But all in all my day went well! As for tomorrow I need to clean some brushes BIG TIME and go to the bank before work because It's a monthly holiday tomorrow......... RENT IS DUE!

Dragon Land

So obviously I do so much at work if I have time to blog :) . Actually Tuesdays tend to get pretty busy here at the castle. Because Tuesday screams let's party! The rest of the week is really dead with is good because we need it to recover from the weekend. Weekends are pure insanity at the castle and I.have the easy job. Seriously this place makes a person never want to reproduce.

Oh did I mention I work at a glorified chuckie cheese? Were just way cooler because we have a dragon and a roller coaster! Actually were way better than CC.

Back to the insanity....... On weekends we book parties for kids. My boss is actually gonna try me out for face painting for one of the parties next week! Hopefully it becomes a permanent gig. Painting faces is fun anyway!

I don't want to be stuck as a face painter, but if it helps with the rent who's to complain right?

Chapter 1.93

Ok so let's see how all this Blogger stuff works. So far pretty good. You see I have to do all of this from my phone due to the mass suicide of every computer I've ever owned.....

But enough about that crap! You want to hear about the makeup stuff. Well I spent 4 years in film school learning sfx and then spent 7 months at actual makeup school learning everything! And just as I got comfy they booted me out the door and said "go be an adult........ Oh by the way you owe us a gagillion dollars in 6 months!"

So I found myself a room to rent and a job doing what I do best! Sitting on my butt! But that's ok because it gives me time to plan my next move.
